The Red Cross unit at St. Mary’s HSS Morakkala was established in 2009, marking the beginning of a journey rooted in service, responsibility, and community welfare. Under the initial guidance of Mr. Basil Thampi  and Ms. Reeja George, who served as counselors, the unit flourished for three years.

Since 2022, Ms. Anju Paul and Ms. Reeja George have been leading the unit together, inspiring and managing its activities with dedication. Today, the Red Cross at St. Mary’s HSS Morakkala proudly holds an active membership of 169 students from the 8th, 9th, and 10th grades, divided into two batches. These students not only excel academically but also enthusiastically participate in Red Cross examinations, achieving remarkable success at A, B, and C levels.

This year, our students made a significant impact at the Red Cross camp held at St. Peter’s, Kolenchery, with the highest number of participants from our school. Beyond academics, Red Cross members play an essential role in various school events, including the school opening day, decorations, arts and science festivals, and more.

Additionally, they take the lead in maintaining discipline, designing and displaying awareness posters, and organizing impactful campaigns against drug abuse. Through their commitment and hard work, the Red Cross at St. Mary’s HSS Morakkala continues to nurture leadership, service, and compassion among its members, empowering them to make a lasting difference in the community.
